As Seen at the Golden Globes

At this year’s Golden Globes Awards the french twist brought sophistication and elegance to the long gowns.  Eva Longoria, Carrie Underwood, and Natalie Portman’s locks were all styled to perfection.  A classic updo hairstyle, it’s nice to see they never go out of style and it is still the standard for polished styles and Hollywood glamour.

Blunt bangs were spotted on Glee’s Amber Riley, Sandra Bullock and Tron’s Olivia Wilde.  As predicted last week, heavy bangs will definitely be on trend for 2011.

5 Easy Styles for 2011

1 – The Low Bun.  It should be messy and not too tight.  Last year was all about the top knot, ballerina style, but this year we’re letting loose.  Recommended products to achieve this look are: Organic Control Systems Glaze Control and Organic Connect Finalé Hairspray.

2 – Deep Side Parts.  This can be worn with either straight hair, or with curly hair, loose or in a pony tail.  The part should begin where the round of the head begins.  Not sure where that is?  Just lay your comb flat against the side of your head and look for the point where it no longer touches the head – this is where you begin your part.  Recommended products to achieve this look are Organic Connect Thermal 2 Twenty if blow drying or flat ironing, and finish with Organic Connect Finalé Hairspray.  If you are wearing it curly we recommend you cocktail some Organic Connect Hydrate Leave-In with Organic Control Systems Glaze Control and then spray with Organic Control Spray Gloss for deep shine.

As I stand behind the chair,
examining your hair.
First I ask the style you have in mind,
or suggest a personal design.

Before you see,
The consummate profession in me,
You may not understand,
how much perfection that I demand.

Hair Color Categories and How They Work

There are three basic categories of hair colors, depending on the duration of the effect produced: temporary, demi-permanent and permanent.

Temporary hair colors modify the color of the hair temporarily and are readily removed by washing. These products contain “direct” dyes – these color molecules are unable to penetrate the hair fiber so they settle on the hair’s surface. They will be washed away after a few shampoos.
