Trends in Hair Color for Fall

This season the color trends are darker, cooler shades like charcoal, sultry chocolates and burnt woods. The look is very street, very New York City with a slightly masculine edge that maintains its sexiness.  Ashley Olsen and Jessica Biel have opted for this bold look for fall, leaving their blonde tresses behind.  Brunettes should be dark, and solid and for those redheads out there fiery, deep shades of red are what we’ll be seeing on the runways.

Complementing the color are hair cuts that are about creating space, shape on shape, we’re seeing a lot of undercutting and plays on texture. Shine and frizz, undone yet polished. The cuts are about movement, but instead of flow it’s about swing.

Handling hair that is breaking down from bleach or chemical color

We always recommend that our clients use Organic Color Systems color or Naturlite Lightening Powder when treating their client’s hair.  However, we understand that our suggestions are not always followed and some of our salon clients may use other treatments.  Bleaching or harsh chemical treatments work by penetrating the cuticle and breaking down the melanin and can cause the hair to become porous, dry, brittle, and degrade or break down during treatment.  This can cause a salon disaster with your client’s hair but not all hope is lost.

If the hair is breaking down with these chemicals, do not rinse them off. Organic Color Systems Revamp is your solution. Revamp Treatment may be used with these products still on the hair. Just follow these easy steps:

Treating Over Processed Hair

Whether it was a bad chemical treatment from their previous colorist, heavy use of a curling iron, or too many products, you may find that many of your clients have over-processed hair. No matter how bad the damage is, don’t send them hat shopping just yet. Organic Color Systems has treatments that will revive, rejuvenate, and nourish your client’s overprocessed hair to provide luscious, rich, healthy results. Here’s how.

Over processed hair is often brittle, fragile, and dry almost like wool. This is primarily means two things: (1) the hair has been robbed of its natural essential oils and proteins; and (2) the cuticle of the hair has been damaged by either exposure to chemical treatment of severe lack of hydration. The key is to restore these elements and repair the cuticle thereby returning the stretch, body, and softness to the hair.
