Avoid Getting in Over Your Head
Occasionally a hair color client will ask you to perform a treatment you have never done before or ask for a high risk treatment. Be cautious of these clients and especially these treatments. If your instincts are telling you to decline this treatment, listen to them. Your instincts are often right in these situations. If the treatment does not work as expected, you are stuck fixing their hair on your time and at your expense rather.

It is better to voice your concerns to the client and offer a similar treatment you are more familiar with or recommend the services of another haircolorist. Your client will often trust and respect you even more for your candid honesty.
