Keep Your Clients Coming Back

Part of running a successful haircare salon is building a strong client base that will come back again and again. These clients will be your most lucrative customers and your loudest supporters. They will rave about your services to family and friends and in turn your client base will grow. So how do you establish these loyal customers? You keep them coming back with a treatment plan.

Speak with your client during regular consultations. Discuss their specific hair color, thickness, density, and type. The more you know about your client’s hair the more credible you will appear to them and the more likely they will be to trust your haircare suggestions. Try a few different looks with your client and find out which ones really work for them.  At this point, suggest a haircare plan. If your client would like to maintain this hairstyle, come in this often and get these treatments. Some steps may be every other visit, and some may be every visit. If clients feel like they have a plan and a direction when it comes to their hairstyle, they are far more likely to come back.

  1. This is a great article. I try to put my clients on a “hair goal” so that I can work with them to achieve their best looks. I call myself their “personal trainer” for hair and beauty. I have each client fill out a questionnaire during our initial consultation, then write my own notes. More on my website. Way to go OSS, very good advice!
