Soothe Plus – Professional Salon Treatment for Ezcema, Psoriasis, and Chronic Scalp Irritation

Have you been presented with a client requiring in salon treatment for Eczema, psoriasis, or chronic scalp irritation? I recently had the pleasure of working with a new client that came to my salon but mentioned that she unfortunately is extremely sensitive to all types of hair coloring. She had experienced redness in her ears, a burning feeling on her scalp a day after the color service, and needless to say she was quite distraught because hair coloring is important to her.

Thankfully the Soothe Plus system was used on her prior, during and after the coloring service and what a joy it was to create a new experience for her! I saved my color client from leaving unhappy, and possibly not returning. She purchased the products for home use and has been able to enjoy her visits with ease.

It seems to becoming more common that clients come in with scalp issues due to a variety of reasons. The Soothe Plus system has allowed me to retain many clients that were having sensitivity to coloring challenges. It felt very rewarding to be helping clients to achieve great long lasting results without discomfort. I’ve since gained a few new people, due to her new salon experience, that were friends of hers having similar issues.

When a client has had a chemical reaction to their scalp and it causes discomfort, other physical reactions and suffering causing an unpleasant experience, how can we help them? Sea Mayweed - Known for its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Soothes scalp and protects against free-radicals. Contains 11 amino acids essential to proper hair health, as well as important vitamins and minerals.

Geranium Oil - A close relative to the rose, used for many years to treat burns, inflammation and hormonal balancing. It is now being used in many “anti-aging” products on the market. Geranium is also used in the treatment of oily, clogged skin, dermatitis and eczema.

Bergamot Fruit Oil - Known for its antiseptic properties, this oil derived from the rind of an orange, is used in many perfumes and brilliantine hairdressing products. Bergamot is also known to be considered a prime photo-sensitizer (sensitivity to light). Another common use is for treatment of oily skin and scalps.
Comfrey- Herbalists know this as the healing herb, and have used it for years as a rapid wound healer. The leaf and the root both contain allantoin, mucilage, tannins, starch, inulin, steroidal saponins and pyrrolizine alkaloids. Comfrey is rich in B12 and proteins. Overall it is a widely used herb in many products.

Wheat - Conditions, strengthens, and protects hair from damage.

It can be quite rewarding to know you have helped a client that may have not been able to have coloring services prior due to challenges with sensitivity. Soothe Plus can assist in aiding the comfort to your client and create a successful, more pleasant experience. By helping the person feel good about their results it can create a stronger loyalty between client and stylist.

Eczema can be painful, embarrassing, and a challenge, for getting regular hair coloring services with ammonia based products. Soothe Plus has aloe and chamomile which both help to calm eczema and in some cases even balance the skin to resulting in eczema to be reduced. The Soothe Plus system is extremely effective for helping to alleviate flare-ups that usually occur during chemical service.

Psoriasis has common attributes to eczema and can cause the client to not be able to receive color services during flare-ups. When Soothe Plus is used prior to chemical service it prepares the scalp to be in the proper balance and ready for the color service.

Dandruff is also caused by an in-balance in the scalp and results in skin flaking off and looking unsightly on clothes and hair. Some point out that dandruff is a self-produced antigen; others say it is part of the allergenic house-dust antigen; and still others say it is not a true allergen. Regardless of what the cause may be it is unwanted and if alleviated the client will be happy with the results. Soothe Plus can absolutely help with dandruff issues and promote a healthier scalp.

How is Soothe Plus used? Soothe Plus works excellent when used in the system:
1. Soothe Plus shampoo – Use full strength. Apply on wet hair. Massage lather throughout. Repeat. For optimum results allow second lather to remain on the hair and scalp for 2 minutes. This extremely mild shampoo is also fantastic for use as a body wash.

2. Soothe Plus Treatment- Spray an even amount onto the scalp or skin where required. Apply Soothe Plus Conditoner, leave for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Treatment can be used in between washing. Spray directly on the scalp and skin as required. This is a perfume-free product that is superb for correcting pH balance and restoring scalp to normal balance.

3. Soothe plus conditioner- Apply a small amount to clean, towel-dried hair. Massage into the scalp and leave for 1-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Ammonia often is the aggressor in causing scalp issues. Thankfully, when choosing the Organic Color Systems, the negative results due to ammonia-based products are greatly reduced. Having a product such as Soothe Plus allows even more control and ease as well as more scalp care.
